The number of employees in local self-governments increased by 540 in one year, according to data published by the non-governmental organization Institute of Alternatives, and according to data they received from the Ministry of Public Administration.
At the end of last year, there were 306 employees in the Municipality of Danilovgrad and its administrations and enterprises. According to the latest census, the municipality has 18,472 inhabitants, which would mean that there are 60 inhabitants for one employee.
Over 15,000 people work in local government bodies, companies and institutions in Montenegrin municipalities.
At the same time, as they state, the Revenue and Customs Administration does not provide information on the tax debt of municipalities, nor on the status of reprogrammed tax obligations.
